ISBE at the European Blockchain Convention 2025: Towards a more efficient and connected administration

ISBE continues to strengthen its role as the technological foundation for a more efficient, transparent, and collaborative public administration. Its roadmap was presented at the European Blockchain Convention 2025 during the Fireside Chat “How Blockchain Can Streamline Public Services,” featuring Ignacio Azorín, Director General of Strategy for the Community of Madrid, and Juan Jiménez Zaballos, Chairman of the Advisory Board at Alastria Blockchain Ecosystem.

During the conversation, Azorín highlighted that ISBE is being built as a public and collaborative infrastructure, designed to provide administrations with tools that improve traceability, interoperability, and trust in the management of public services. He emphasized that the goal is not only to innovate but to make services more efficient, reliable, and citizen-oriented, eliminating structural inefficiencies and reinforcing Spain's technological sovereignty within the European ecosystem.

This strategy, he explained, progresses in phases: first, the creation of the infrastructure; second, the activation of financial support lines for companies to develop blockchain-based solutions; and finally, the integration of economic sustainability models to ensure the ecosystem's continuity.

In this vision, ISBE acts as a meeting point between the public and private sectors, offering a common environment of trust to deploy real-world applications in areas such as digital identity, traceability, electronic payments, and academic certification.

With the backing of the Community of Madrid and Alastria, ISBE advances as a pioneering infrastructure in Europe, prepared to drive innovation, public-private collaboration, and digital transformation through an open, secure model fully aligned with European standards.
