ISBE opens a new era: more agile procedures and reliable processes thanks to blockchain

Blockchain has moved from being a promise to becoming a strategic technology that solves real problems: traceability, digital identity, process automation, and document certification are just some of the areas where concrete results are already being seen.

This is reflected in a recent report published by ABC Empresa, where Miguel Ángel Domínguez, President of Alastria, highlights how the Spanish Blockchain Services Infrastructure (ISBE) will enable a qualitative leap in the adoption of this technology, particularly by SMEs and public administrations.

ISBE will be a public network, interoperable with the European Blockchain Services Infrastructure (EBSI) and designed to comply with European regulatory frameworks such as eIDAS2 and MiCA. Its objective: to provide a common, secure, and accessible technological foundation for developing reliable digital services.

As Domínguez points out in the article, ISBE was created to “solve the major problems that occur in the relationships between the public and private sectors.” Thanks to this infrastructure, processes that are currently slow and bureaucratic—such as the granting of aid, certificates, or bank verifications—can be automated securely, with traceability and trust, without unnecessary burdens for companies or citizens.

This momentum, combined with the entrepreneurial ecosystem and the developments already being integrated into ISBE, positions Spain as one of the countries decisively betting on a digitalization based on standards, interoperability, and multisectoral collaboration.
