Miguel Ángel Domínguez: “ISBE will bring order to the new technological ecosystem, strengthening Spain’s digital sovereignty”

Computing magazine has published an interview with Miguel Ángel Domínguez Castellano, President of Alastria Blockchain Ecosystem, in which he analyzes the role of ISBE (Spanish Blockchain Services Infrastructure) within the new European technological context. This landscape is currently shaped by the expansion of artificial intelligence and an increasing demand for trust and traceability in digital environments.
During the conversation, Domínguez emphasizes that ISBE will be a secure, interoperable, and "compliant by design" infrastructure. It is conceived to strengthen the competitiveness of Spanish companies and the country's innovation capacity. Its goal is to provide a common technological foundation that facilitates the development of new business models and applications in both the public and private sectors, ensuring full regulatory compliance with frameworks such as GDPR, eIDAS2, NIS2, and the Data Act.
The President of Alastria also highlights the importance of public-private collaboration in the project. This approach allows administrations, companies, and startups to integrate into a shared environment of trust, reducing entry barriers and accelerating technological adoption. “Without our own digital infrastructures, innovation in Europe will always be slower and more expensive,” Domínguez states, insisting that Spain needs to consolidate its position as a benchmark in the development of secure and sustainable digital infrastructures.
The interview, published by Computing España (BPS), positions ISBE as a strategic national project that not only drives innovation but directly contributes to the technological sovereignty of Spain and Europe, promoting a digital growth model based on trust, traceability, and transparency.
