Webinar by LF Decentralized Trust : Building ISBE, Europe’s Regulation-Compliant Blockchain Infrastructure on Besu

Last May 13, the webinar “Building ISBE, Europe’s Regulation-Compliant Blockchain Infrastructure on Besu” took place, coordinated by LF Decentralized Trust.

During the session, Miguel Calero presented the strategic and technical foundations of the Spanish Blockchain Services Infrastructure (ISBE), highlighting its compliance-by-design approach aligned with the European regulatory framework.

Three key topics were addressed during the webinar:

• Regulated-sector orientation: ISBE enables blockchain adoption for the 72% of the European Union’s GDP linked to regulated sectors, providing an identifiable, auditable, and contractable environment that meets both public procurement and corporate requirements.

• Built-in regulatory compliance: The infrastructure integrates by design the guarantees required to align with critical regulatory frameworks such as eIDAS 2.0 (as a qualified electronic ledger), MiCA, DORA, NIS2, and GDPR through a filtering proxy model.

• Dual-network architecture and sovereignty: The model includes a Bear network for maximum legal assurance with HSM support, alongside an Ethereum-compatible Main network, both operated independently from foreign commercial cloud providers to ensure digital sovereignty.
