Characteristics of the ISBE blockchain network
On this page we explore the features that set the ISBE blockchain network apart; from its commitment to legality and transparency, to its sustainable approach, its interoperability with European initiatives such as EBSI and its ability to accelerate projects that transform data and processes into competitive advantages.
Set of networks

ISBE is conceived as an infrastructure of several blockchain networks: a Bare Network, with a maximum level of compliance with regulatory frameworks; and other Use Cases Networks, with greater flexibility for applications.
A model that allows the level of compliance, performance and cost to be adjusted to each business challenge, for public administrations and companies.
Compliant with the regulations

ISBE complies with all necessary regulations for blockchain use cases to ensure trust and legal validity.
The requirements of other regulations such as MiCA, Dora, Data Act, LSMV, ENS and NIS2 have been integrated into the design of ISBE, facilitating continuous adaptation to legal and technological developments.
Public-private partnerships

ISBE integrates and connects private companies and public administrations in a participatory and transparent governance framework, driving innovation and the adoption of trusted digital services.
Public-permitted infrastructure

ISBE combines the open access of public networks and the permissioning of private networks for the validation and authorisation of transactions.
Blockchain nodes are clearly identified, which helps to maintain the integrity of the system. This approach results in an infrastructure that is transparent for consultation and secure in its operation.
Decentralisation

The governance model ensures that the operation of the Network is shared between various public and private entities.
This decentralisation prevents a single entity from having control over networks, ensuring trust, integrity and continuity.
Carbon-neutral

Aligned with the European Green Pact, it achieves carbon neutrality through a three-step strategy: a low-energy design thanks to its efficient consensus mechanism, an audited calculation of its environmental impact and the reduction of its carbon footprint as a shared infrastructure.
No technical complexity

Ready-to-use tools and services with availability of Smart Contracts, APIs and other resources facilitate application development and deployment, accelerating time-to-market, reducing costs for participants and minimising technical complexity.
Sovereignty

ISBE is a strategic project that reinforces European technological sovereignty by offering State-wide blockchain infrastructure, interoperable with European initiatives and aligned with the digitalisation objectives of Spain and Europe.
Reliability

Secure and efficient architecture, with multi-cloud nodes, monitoring, continuous testing and cyber security by design.
This ensures robustness and protection against incidents.
Open source

The nodes, APIs and Smart Contracts created by ISBE are published under open source.
This means that anyone can access the code, audit it and help to improve it, contributing to the ecosystem.
